Some of you may grow tired of this hoosier cabinet. I apologize if I end up blogging about it too much. But, you see, it is taking a lot of my creative time.
However, I must say, that I never, Never, get bored of re-finishing furniture. There are times I wish I was done sanding or stripping a particular piece so I can move on to the painting, the distressing, the sealing, or, delivering it to the owner.
-I am writing this post without inserting the photos because I am charging the camera battery. I think I am very visual and need to see the photos while I type! -
We moved the base into the house so I could seal it (yes, in the house!), attach the hardware, and bring up the hutch or top piece.
I am pretty pleased with the progress. Some of the first few layers are showing through because I did not strip it down to the bare wood: 1. I don't think the wood was nice enough and 2. It would have taken months and months- I am certain.
So, now, I am waiting for it to warm up a bit to begin stripping the hutch.
Dawn, the cabinet looks great! Sorry it is taking up so much of your time.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret! I honestly don't mind. It wil be fun to see it in your shop soon.
