Paris-inspired scarf

I have never been to Paris. (I was in Vienna once for a layover. I ate breakfast there and boy was it expensive. But, I love saying that I ate breakfast there, rode in a cab, and visited a church). I think we will visit Rome or any other city in Italy before we go to Paris or France for that matter.

I have a friend who has a lovely scarf from Paris, France. Her mother brought it back for her. Well, when I saw her wearing this scarf over a year ago, I knew I wanted to replicate it.

This is my version. I hope she is not upset when she sees this! (You know, copying is a form of flattery. Maybe she will let me get a photo of her scarf and I can let you see them together.) I knitted two narrow pieces, added a ball trim (that I had for over a year just waiting for me to work on this project) and re-purposed some faux velvet fabric.

This dress is the source for the ruffly part of the scarf. It is full length and that means I can make plenty more. Although, I think I want to do a neutral one next.

The scarf is handmade, and up-cycled, so it's green! I think I will post one or a few in my etsy shop soon.
