I know I already showed you the Union Jack file drawers. Well, our friends have a son named Jack and he has a few little shirts with the flag on them. So, I knew his mom would like this little plaque for his first birthday!
I started with an old vintage, wooden plaque from the 60's or 70's that had some random nature scene on it. Since I did not take a 'before' photo, here is another plaque I will use for something in the near future. You can find them for $1 or less at a thrift store.
I sanded, painted, and decoupaged the paper union flag onto the plaque using colors that matched his bedroom. Then I painted a dark glaze over it.
The letters are made from a cereal box, modge podge, and strips of book pages. (I will link you to a tutorial for this in a future post.)
I think this is cute and love that it's a Union Jack for a little Jack! But, even if your name is not Jack, it would still be fun to have one on your wall.
