Polka-dot box and rack

I really like stripes, but I chose polka-dots for this little storage box. It was not this cute when I received it from a friend. They totally dumpster-dived for it. (Actually, it was left-overs from a yard sale).

I painted it brown, then gave it a few coats of white and distressed it. I figured you could buy a white one at a store and decided it needed more. I used round yard sale price tags and stuck them all over. Then I used four different colors and painted each part of the box.

Once it was dry enough, I removed the round stickers and revealed the little polka dots. I distressed it a bit more and then sealed it with water-based poly.
See, it was dark green and missing a couple of pegs. I had a few extra pegs from a previous project and was able to replace them easily. I also added 'd' rings on the back to make it easier to hang.
As of today, this is still in my etsy shop. Just waiting for the right person to snatch it up.

I love taking things that have been forgotten and giving them purpose again.
